Melton Cricket Club - A Great Cricket Club Not Many Have Heard Of
Melton is a small village in Suffolk that is situated three miles from Wymondham, a small market town, and 7 miles from the historic city of Norwich. Like with many villages in the United Kingdom, Melton has its own cricket club. We will now have a closer look at this cricket club and it's finacial guardian (www.cricket-betting.org.in/)
The Melton Cricket Club is the Heart of This Small Village
The Melton Cricket Club is one of the most picturesque grounds in the whole country as it is situated in a parkland setting right in the heart of the Norfolk countryside. It was founded in 1974 and has gone on to become an important focal point of this small and quiet village.
The villagers absolutely love cricket, especially the T20 World Cup, and are extremely proud of their small cricket club. The club has great practice and playing facilities, and anyone is welcome through their doors, no matter their age or gender. The club’s main aim is to help anyone who loves cricket to become the best cricketer that they can. Talking about gender, there has been a major improvement in the professional women's game thanks to the introduction of the Decision Review System (DRS).
There are plenty of teams that budding cricketers can join as they have a Sunday team, four Saturday teams, a women’s team, and two mid-week teams. For youngsters, there are six different junior sides – U9s, U11 Girls, U11s, Under 13s, Under 15s, and Under 19s.
All these teams are part of a league, and if you like to bet on cricket, you will be impressed to learn that they have all done pretty well over the years. For example, the first XI compete in the Norfolk Cricket Alliance Division 2, while their A team participate in Division 5. Their B team plays in Norfolk Cricket League Division 2W, while their C team plays in 4SW. The Sunday team takes part in the Mid-Norfolk Sunday League Shield Premier Division.
All of the coaches are volunteers who have a passion for teaching others all the ins and outs of this great sport. They believe in integrity and fair play and will not tolerate anyone who does not play within the spirit of cricket.
The club regularly holds a variety of social events to ensure that the community remains as one.
What Can You Find at This Pleasant Cricket Ground
Melton Park has a pitch for youngsters that has a wooden pavilion and an artificial wicket. There is another pitch for senior matches that has a pavilion with a clubroom, a bar, and a fantastic kitchen. There is also another pitch a short distance away which is where the B and C teams play their cricket.
Overall, despite the club’s small size when compared to other cricket clubs around the United Kingdom, you will find some fantastic facilities there. So, if you ever find yourself passing through this quaint village, we highly recommend that you go and pay the Melton Cricket Club a visit. They will welcome you with open arms and treat you like one of their own.
